Product Introduction:
Football Field At The End of The Outlet!

By packing eight electric double-layer capacitors in a single electrical outlet plug, Kojo Technology succeeded in achieving a tremendous conductor surface area of 80,000,000 cm2, equivalent to that of a football field (105 m × 68 m).

The Crystal Eop-G improves on the concept of grounding from past Kojo products through the introduction of innovative ideas and revolutionary technologies to expand the conductor surface area. It easily surpasses the previous record held by the Crystal E-G Ground Box and is capable of not just strengthening the ground of each device but also the stable operation of the entire audio system.

> Adoption of Electric Double-Layer Capacitor Technology
In planning the development of a new grounding product that covers the entire audio system, Kojo considered the location and form it should be used. The development staff focused on the earth line of the input power supply connected to the frame ground of the audio equipment. This input power supply will be a free outlet socket on the wall or power outlet on the power strip. The technical challenge lies in achieving a conductor surface area large enough to cover the entire audio system in a compact form factor.

A special aluminium electrolytic capacitor is used inside Crystal Ep RCA Plug-Type Grounding Terminal and Crystal E-G Ground Box. The etching process applied to both electrodes (high-purity aluminium foil) of the capacitor creates countless cavities similar to a sponge-like structure to achieve a conductor surface area of 11,000 cm2. However, even the use of 10 or 20 of these special capacitors is insufficient to cover the conductor surface area required for the entire audio system.

After exploring different materials and new technologies, Kojo finally found the solution in the form of electric double-layer capacitors (also known as super capacitors). In addition to the electrode (etching process) structure mentioned above, electric double-layer capacitors also contain porous activated carbon which has a high porosity with numerous micropores, thus contributing to an unimaginable expansion of the surface area.

The Crystal Eop-G is packed with eight electric double-layer capacitors to achieve an unmatched surface area of 80,000,000 cm2, equivalent to that of a football field (105m x 68m). This area is about 1,200 times that of Crystal E-G (68,000 cm2) and more than 7,200 times that of the Crystal Ep series (11,000 cm2 ). Thus, Kojo succeeded in achieving a tremendous conductor surface area in a single outlet plug size.

*The electric double-layer capacitor is used to expand the conductor surface area and does not function as a capacitor.

> Structure of Crystal Eop-G
The adoption of electric double-layer capacitor technology makes it possible to significantly reduce the size of the grounding device. A plug-type design was adopted to fit the empty outlets on wall sockets and power strips. The next step was to devise a method to make it compact.

The Crystal Eop-G adopts a cylindrical structure with eight electric double-layer capacitors evenly distributed radially for efficient placement and even weight distribution. The conductive materials of the inner cap, body, and sealing cap consist of different metals (copper, brass, and SUS) selected through repeated sound quality adjustments.

In addition, the unused live and neutral pin of the plug are made of ABS for safety and strength. Only the conductive ground pin is made of gold-plated brass. The mechanical design and manufacturing was achieved through joint development with Yuki Precision Co. Ltd., a company that manufactures satellites and medical equipment (the company has released the AP-01 turntable). The compact form factor and high-precision processing technology is both Crystal Eop-G’s status and its pride.

> Compact and Expandable
The Crystal Eop-G consists of three parts: outlet plug, main body, and protective cap to enhance expandability and scalability.

The outlet plug and protective cap have male and female threads of the same pitch size, allowing two Crystal Eop-Gs to be connected together to double the surface area to 160,000,000 cm2 . Utilising this function, multiple units can be connected together to expand the surface area any number of times.

In addition, connecting two Crystal Eop-Gs together creates an excess outlet plug and protective cap which can be combined to form an outlet protective cap. This intentional design feature makes effective use of the excess parts and prevents them from being lost, making the Crystal Eop-G a sustainable product for the years to come.

> Design
The Crystal Eop-G was conceived to utilise the empty outlets of wall sockets and power strips and as its name suggests, designed based on the concepts of clarity, delicacy, and transparency. It is also designed to be the same size as outlet plugs of audio power cables to prevent interference with adjacent outlets. The Crystal Eop-G inherits the design of the previous Crystal series products but is plated with champagne gold.

> Sound Quality Effects
As mentioned above, the newly adopted electric double-layer capacitor enables the Crystal Eop-G to achieve a tremendous conductor surface area of 80,000,000 cm2 which easily surpasses the previous record held by the Crystal E-G Ground Box and suitable for providing grounding for the entire audio system.

The Crystal Eop-G reaps the full benefits of this development to improve the S/N ratio and reproduction of the three-dimensional space. The realism is enhanced with
clear separation of instruments, vivid expression of textures and balanced frequency response.

You will hear fine details not perceptible previously. The sound stage has a sense of depth and power with clear outlines. The singer is positioned firmly in the centre with the sound stage expanding front to back, left to right and up and down, bringing you into a realm surpassing 2-channel audio.

> The Three Sacred Artifacts
The Crystal Eop-G Outlet Plug-Type Grounding Terminal is the latest addition to Kojo’s grounding series. When used in conjunction with the existing box-type and RCA plug-type grounding terminals, it improves and strengthens the grounding of the entire audio system and provides stable operation of audio equipment and circuits.

With it, Kojo’s grounding series is now complete with the “Three Sacred Artifacts”. The box-type grounding strengthens the frame ground of the device; the RCA plug-type strengthens the circuit ground within the device; and the outlet plug-type strengthens the ground of the entire audio system.
